ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify for full privileges and standing as a member the applicant must meet the following requirements:

A. MEMBER:

Be a graduate of a SECURITY/INVESTIGATIONS/POLYGRAPH school that is recognized by the GLOBAL ASSOCIATION FOR SECURITY & POLYGRAPH as being accredited by any state board of education or any state or GLOBAL ASSOCIATION FOR SECURITY & POLYGRAPH. (Applicants who have not graduated from a recognized SECURITY/INVESTIGATIONS/POLYGRAPH school, but who have received preceptor training under an professional who was, or still is a member of any State security related association or GLOBAL ASSOCIATION FOR SECURITY & POLYGRAPH, are still eligible for full membership, subject to review and approval by the Membership Committee).
Shall not have been convicted of, or found guilty by and Federal of State court of a felony crime, any misdemeanor crime involving sexual or moral misconduct, or for the violation of the civil rights of any person . (Any other violations will be subject to review and approval by the Membership Committee). Shall not have been found guilty by any court or labor hearing for violation of the civil rights of any person. (If applicant has been charged, but has not been convicted of, or found guilty of any of the above, final acceptance of his/her application and award of membership will be withheld pending final disposition of the charges.)
Shall have satisfied his/her financial obligation to the GLOBAL ASP due and payable no later then 90 days from August the 1st of each year.
Must participate in at least one (1) international meeting at least every three years until local seminars are presented by the GLOBAL ASP.
Personal membership : Enclose $150.00 for first year's dues which includes $50.00 for reviewing applicants' qualifications and background. If application is not accepted the remaining $100.00 will be returned to the applicant.
Corporate membersip : Enclose $450.00 for first year's dues which includes $50.00 for reviewing applicants' qualifications and background. If application is not accepted the remaining $400.00 will be returned to the applicant.
Members will be entitled to all newsletters or publications sent out by the GLOBAL ASP.

INTERN MEMBERS:

Intern membership shall be limited to those applicants recently entering the SECURITY/INVESTIGATIONS/POLYGRAPH profession and who have not yet met the requirements set for Full Membership.

AFFILIATE MEMBER:

Any person who has demonstrated a genuine interest in the field of SECURITY/INVESTIGATIONS/POLYGRAPH and has rendered service and support to the SECURITY/INVESTIGATIONS/POLYGRAPH profession.
Affiliate members shall not hold any office in the GLOBAL ASP but may participate in all functions with the exception of Board/Business meetings unless requested by the Board of Directors.
Fee for Affiliate Members will be $95.00 per year.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP:

Once each year the Board of Directors may submit the name of one person who has rendered distinguished service and support to the SECURITY/INVESTIGATIONS/POLYGRAPH profession, to the membership for their approval to bestow this Honorary award. Such member shall pay annual dues and will have no voting rights.

LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP AWARD:

Each year the Board of Directors may submit the names of SECURITY / INVESTIGATIONS / POLYGRAPH professionals , who have rendered outstanding service in the SECURITY / INVESTIGATIONS / POLYGRAPH community, and have devoted themselves to the improvement of the SECURITY / INVESTIGATIONS / POLYGRAPH profession, to the membership for their approval to bestow and award a Lifetime Membership. Such recipients shall pay no annual dues, and will have no voting rights unless they are, at the time of the award, members in good standing in the GLOBAL ASP. That person shall then have the same voting rights as any other member.

B. DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDINGS:

A member whose conduct injures or tends to injure the GLOBAL ASP, adversely affects its reputation or which is contrary to or destructive of its purposes or objectives, or who shall wrongfully defame the or reputation member shall be subject to disciplinary proceedings as follows:

1. All charges or allegations of misconduct by a member shall be submitted to the Grievance
Committee of the GLOBAL ASP in writing and the Chairman of the Grievance Committee

shall:

A. Conduct whatever preliminary investigation he may determine necessary or
appropriate.

B. Promptly inform the member against whom charges or allegations of misconduct
have been made as to the nature thereof, and request a response thereof, and
request a response thereto from such member.

C. Failure by said member provide the requested information to the Grievance
committee shall be grounds for probation, suspension or termination of
membership.

2. Each member of the Grievance Committee shall inform the Chairman of the Grievance
Committee as to whether or not the matter should be presented to the Board of Directors
at its next meeting or disciplinary action.

C. VOTING RIGHTS:

All members meeting the requirements of Article III, A, shall be considered by that fact voting members of the GLOBAL ASP and shall have the right to exercise their rights to vote in all elections requiring general membership participation. There shall be no absentee voting nor voting by proxy.
